Frickley hands Porthouse the baton

It has been announced that Ian Porthouse, Musical Director of the famous Welsh outfit, Tredegar Town Band, will conduct Carlton Main Frickley at the forthcoming Yorkshire Regional Championships.

Band Manager Robert Browne commented on the appointment: "When the opportunity arose to secure Ian's services we jumped at the chance. It's fantastic to be working with one of the best conductors in UK banding. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Ian on the brilliant 'Dark Arteries' with the Rambert Ballet so we're excited to link up once more."

The band is keen to record its thanks to Paul Holland and Ian McElligott, who have assisted the band with area preparations and the players look forward to trying to replicate their winning form from 2013 and 2015, when they compete at Huddersfield Town Hall in March.
