Bella Tromba take the 'Late Shift'

The award-winning brass ensemble Bella Tromba, of Emma Bassett, Victoria Curran, Becca Toft and Jo Harris, will be featured as part of the high profile 'Late Shift' series at the National Portrait Gallery. The series provides free live music for art lovers in London on 19th January. 

The event begins at 6.30pm on Friday 19th January will feature the ensemble unveilling of one their newest works when they perform Peter Longworth's 'Days of Bells and Flying Creatures'.   

His compositions for the likes of the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Mozart Players have received widespread critical acclaim, and Bella Tromba look forward to soon recording it at the famous Abbey Road Studios. 
Jo Harris commented on the performance, "The 'Late Shift' at the National Gallery is the latest in a series of opportunities that connect us with a new audience. It also gives us the ideal chance to showcase the variety of music we perform, so there's everything from excerpts from Tchaikovsky's 'Nutcracker' to Peter's wonderful work." 

The ensemble is also passionate about their educational outreach work, which in the last year has encompassed inspirational links to the Girls Day School Trust promoting opportunities for young female players aged 7 to 18. 
Jo added: "Our previous association with Live Music Now and now the Girls Day School Trust is very important to us, as we want to show young girls that there are huge opportunities for a career in music and music performance."
