PERCUSSION FOCUS
June edition brings a focus on percussion, with articles by ‘pro’ percussionists Sean Hooper, who offers advice on honing technique and Chinese-born Le Yu, who considers the exciting evolution that brass band percussion has undergone, as well as advises on four-mallet grips. Composer, Stephen Bulla - who provided music for the President’s Own United States Marine Band and Chamber Orchestra in Washington DC, also considers the percussion pallet.

Christopher Thomas took in the ‘sublime musical divinity’ of the latest Mnozil Brass show - Cirque - at Birmingham’s Town Hall.
