Headline composers for RNCM Brass Band Festival

Next year’s RNCM Brass Band Festival will be a ‘Voyage of Discovery’ with a clutch of UK and World premières – BBW sets the scene.

Sixteen UK and World première performances will feature in the 2018 RNCM Brass Band Festival from 26 - 28 January, in a programme themed on travel on land and by sea.

Headlining the bill will be two of the country’s leading composers, Paul Mealor and his one-time teacher, John Pickard, who renews his association with Cory Band in the work, Rain, Steam and Speed, specially commissioned by Artistic Director, Paul Hindmarsh, with funds from Brass Band Heritage Trust, John Golland Trust, and a collaboration with Eikanger-Bjørsvik Musikklag and James Madison University Brass Band…
