Brighouse announces New Look Trombones
In a recent statement on social media, a spokesperson for Brighouse & Rastrick band announced, “We’re thrilled to announce an all-new look for the Brighouse & Rastrick Band trombone section, as we welcome back a very familiar face…Steven Walker returns to the band on 2nd Trombone, Joe Heartfield steps up into the Solo Trombone seat, and Olli Atherton holds things down on Bass Trombone.
“The trio made their first appearance together at the band’s recent concert at Hull City Hall, and what a debut it was. This exciting new team puts us in great stead for 2026, as we look to retain our British Open title and, hopefully, add a few more trophies to the cabinet.”
Steven is no stranger to the Brighouse family, having helped the band to National Championship victories in 2010 and 2011, and narrowly missing out on an historic hat-trick in 2012. He also spent several years working with the band’s Professional Conductor, Professor David King, during his time with YBS, contributing to some of their famous contest triumphs.
