Future Brass Open Day

Broxburn & Livingston’s Future Brass Band is hosting an Open Day to showcase the opportunities young brass players have to grow and develop as musicians through ensemble playing, with opportunities to represent their local communities at events and contests and to make friends with instrumentalists who share a mutual passion for music.

Any young person wishing to learn how to play a brass or percussion instrument – or who may already be learning at school – is welcome to come along to the event to meet the band, try out different instruments and hear the Future Band perform ahead of their next contest at the Scottish Youth Championships on 30 November.

Broxburn & Livingston’s Future Brass Band is conducted by Jim Bone, an outstanding musician who successfully led the senior band from 2023-2024 at many contests and concerts. Jim is now concentrating on growing the Future Brass programme to develop the next generation of B&L players.

The Open Day will be on Sunday 23 November from 1-3pm at the Church Hall, St Nicholas United Free Church, Station Road, Broxburn EH52 5QW.
