New Cory President Announced

Following the conclusion of Morgan Jones's 10-year tenure, Cory Band has announced that long-time supporter Ken Price has accepted the role of Band President. Ken has been a dedicated presence within the Cory Band family for over a decade. He's been a regular at rehearsals, travelled extensively with the band to concerts and major competitions, and has often assisted with draws and trophy presentations, which has continued his passion for brass bands after playing the Euphonium and leading youth bands within the Salvation Army.

Beyond his visible support, Ken has been an invaluable asset, generously sharing his business acumen. His expertise was instrumental in helping Cory achieve the significant milestone of securing a long-term home, a crucial accomplishment in recent years. He has also lent his support to several European campaigns. The band's trustees and Musical Director, Philip Harper, recently met with Ken to officially welcome him. In typical Cory fashion, discussions immediately turned to future priorities and ambitions for the organisation, with Ken's support in this key figurehead role.

Commenting on his appointment, Ken said, “As a long-time supporter of top-level brass bands, it has been one of the pleasures of my life, outside of family and business, to watch Cory work week in, week out within the bandroom and to witness the levels they continually achieve. It is my privilege to accept the position of President of Cory Band, and I look forward to working closely with the trustees and Philip to achieve the ambitions of the organisation together and will support in any way that I can.”

As previously announced, Morgan Jones has graciously accepted the position of the band's first Vice President. This move opens up opportunities for more individuals to join Cory in similar strategic roles, contributing to the band's future ambitions both on and off stage.
