Luke reaches final of Scottish Young Musician 

Congratulations to Newmilns & Galston Band’s Luke Parkhill on winning the 2025 South Ayrshire Senior Young Musician of the Year. 
 
Musicians from eight academies in South Ayrshire competed in the event, with Luke’s performance of ‘Movement 1, Concerto in F minor’ by Bohme taking the title. 
 
Luke, who attends Belmont Academy, will now go on to represent the council area at the  
final of the Scottish Young Musicians in the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland on Sunday 25 May.
