UniBrass hosts South Wales Youth Band

The UniBrass Foundation has announced that they will be welcoming the South Wales Youth Band ton play a short pre-results concert at the fast approaching UniBrass Contest.

The South Wales Youth Band was formed in 2021 to give young people in South Wales the opportunity to meet other brass players and to collaborate together and recognise their belonging, improving mental health and wellbeing, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic.

There are 50 brass and percussion players aged 10 -18 from Rhondda Cynon Taff, Blaenau Gwent, Torfaen, Carmarthenshire, Cardiff, Vale of Glamorgan, Newport, Caerphilly and Newport that come together to rehearse, perform concerts, support community events and enjoy making music. In 2022, the band represented Wales at the European Youth Brass Band championships in Symphony Hall in Birmingham, and in 2023 in Malmo, Sweden.

The band will be coming to UniBrass to perform an entertainment set of their own prior to the announcement of the results, and promise a programme packed full of ‘cheese’! Don’t miss out on this opportunity to support such an enthusiastic and talented ensemble of young musicians!

Tickets are on sale for the contest and concert and can be purchased from the UniBrass website. Both seated and standing tickets will be available for purchase. Prices range from £15 for children, £18 for students and £22 for adults.
