Last call for BBSS 2022

Later this week, on Sunday 7th August, the Brass Band Summer School will assemble in person for the first time since 2019 at Harrogate Ladies’ College for its 35th Anniversary Course, culminating in a Finale Gala Concert at Harrogate’s Grade-1 listed St Wilfrid’s Church on 12th August at 7.30pm.

With an eclectic range of repertoire, and so many performance opportunities, there is sure to be something for everyone. Delegates will have the chance to take individual instrumental lessons from their tutors, study conducting with Musical Director, Dr. Robert Childs, perform in chamber ensembles and work with in-house pianist, Matthew McCombie. In addition, when the work for the day is done, the music staff will provide evening entertainment, including a mini-recital series!

During the week, David Childs and Les Neish will perform together, Owen Farr and Becky Smith will share the stage, and Brian Taylor and Chris Bradley will join forces for a cornet spotlight. In addition, the staff will perform as an ensemble and guest artists, including Alan Morrison and Roger Webster, will also be part of the line-up.

If you haven’t already, this is your last chance to sign up for what is set to be a wonderful week of music making in a beautiful part of the world. To secure your place contact Bookings Administrator, Liz Lancaster: admin@brassbandsummerschool.com / +44 (0) 7789 841041
