Graham’s service recognised by Whitburn

Whitburn Band has recognised the lengthy service of one of its legends. Jimmy Graham has dedicated more than six decades of his life to the organisation. Jimmy was Whitburn’s principal euphonium during the Major Peter Parkes era and played a huge part in the band’s successes over many years.

In recent times, Jimmy passed on his considerable experience to young players coming through with Whitburn Heartlands band. He retired from playing earlier this year. Band president Charlie Farren presented Jimmy with a commemorative quaich – complete with whisky to enjoy – after the Whitburn Gala Day Proclamation last weekend stating, “Everyone in the Whitburn organisation congratulates Jimmy for his amazing contribution.”
