BBE highlights new funding opportunities for bands in 2022

There’s no doubt that 2021 had not been the recovery year expected. With that in mind, Brass Bands England is pleased to highlight two funding opportunities for brass bands that are quick on the horizon. In June, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will become the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, 70 years of service. Activity will build across the UK in the run up to the four-day weekend and with it are funding opportunities for brass bands to deliver events which will add to this nationwide fanfare and celebration. The Queen's Platinum Jubilee provides two funds:

ACE Let’s Create Jubilee Fund: There are opportunities with this fund that will enable brass bands to work with other art-forms and artists to deliver a cultural event, raise their profile by doing so and reach and engage new participants and audiences. Applications are now open until 22 February. These must be made through a regional/local community which can be found via postcode search.

The National Lottery Awards For All England Fund: This Awards for All programme is now open until 31 March, accepting applications from voluntary and community organisations in England that will deliver events and activities that celebrate the Platinum Jubilee. Bands can also apply for funding for a one-off event during the weekend which meets the criteria.

Further details on each fund can be found on the Brass Bands England website. Brass Bands England’s new fundraising manager will also be hosting a webinar on Tuesday 15 February 7pm. It will cover all prospective applicants of the funding opportunities need to know, from guidance on writing a project proposal to tips on the writing of the application. The webinar will take place over Zoom and is free to access for members and non-members of BBE.
