SWBBA Online Contest

The SWBBA inaugural Online Solo and Quartet Contest has attracted an incredible 150 entries and 180 performances from all over the UK and abroad. SWBBA Vice-Chairman,John Woods, commented, “Due to the extremely large entry we have had to delay our ‘Results Showcase’ launch as the evaluation and processing has taken longer than originally envisaged. We will now be announcing the results on Facebook over three evenings on 21st, 22nd and 23rd May. Our grateful thanks go to adjudicator Steve Sykes for the mammoth task of deciding the winners, and also to Trevada Music for so generously sponsoring the prizes.”

SWBBA also announced that because of the large number of entries in the Slow Melody under 12yrs class, it has been divided into two separate classes: 9yrs and under, and 10-12 yrs. They hope this will help to reward and encourage these young people. They would like to thank everyone who has entered the competition, and teachers and parents who have encouraged players to take part. Without them this event could not have taken place. The three Showcases will be available to view on SWBBA YouTube channel shortly after the showcase weekend.
