Dr Childs leads the first Conductor’s Council in Germany

The first Conductor's Council of the German Brass Band Association (DBBV) took place in Dinkelscherben near Augsburg from the 26th to the 28th of October. Dr. Robert Childs was invited as the guest lecturer and worked with participants on various practical and theoretical aspects of conducting in general and the direction of brass bands throughout the intensive three day course.

In addition to topics such as planning a rehearsal, notes on the compilation of concert and competition programs and the preparation of scores, of course, the work he undertook with the Brass Band Woodshockers was at the center of the Council. Through individual coaching, each participant was given tips for personal development as a conductor, with the event culminating in final concert by the Brass Band Woodshockers. Alexander Richter (Vice President of the DBBV) expressed his delight, "I am very pleased that we were able to launch this format with the support of the Besson company. The experience gained for all participants is more than extraordinary. With Dr. Childs we have the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of the British scene, for which I am extremely grateful."
