Manx National Youth Band extend a golden hand of friendship to the NYBBGB

The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain is thrilled to announce that the Manx National Youth Band has become the first ever band to become a member of the Friends of the NYBB and NCBB. A representative from the Manx National Youth Band commented on their donation, “We have agreed to be a Gold Friend as we feel it is the least that we can do to assist the Band in continuing to afford the opportunity to young players, the benefits of which we have seen over the years, and we are very pleased to be associated. It is to be hoped that other bands will follow suit and support this fantastic organization too”

The ‘Friends’ was set up a number of years ago by former Musical Director, Dr. Roy Newsome with the aim of financially supporting the activities of both the National Youth and National Children’s Bands. NYBBGB Administrator Philip Biggs highlighted the continued value of the Friends to the current bands: “Becoming a Friend of The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain and The National Children's Brass Band of Great Britain is the best possible way of investing in the future of brass bands in Great Britain. It helps keep course fees and associated costs as low as possible for the brass stars of tomorrow and today!” Any band or person also interested in supporting the NYBBGB or finding out more information about the ‘Friends’ should email NYBBGBFRIENDS@hotmail.co.uk
