Andy Prior meets Smithills

Smithills School Senior Brass Band and MD Chris Wormald have raised over £300,000 for the RNLI and Bolton Hospice over the past 26 years and together they are to increase this amount with two concerts on two successive evenings this month.

On Friday October 14th Smithills will be performing in the Victoria Hall, Bolton in aid of Bolton Hospice, joined by Big Band vocalist Andy Prior, who is delighted to be singing with the band. The following evening, Saturday October 15th, Smithills give their annual Trinity Church, Farnworth concert in aid of Bolton RNLI, this having bag packed all day in a busy Morrison’s Supermarket, as they will be doing again all day on Sunday October 16th in order to raise funds for the band’s sixth USA concert tour in July.

Led for the first time by new Principal Cornet Phoebe Matthews, Smithills will be showcasing all of their new material including West Side Story, Under The Double Eagle, Life On Mars, I See The Light, I’ll Be There, Living On A Prayer and many more.
