Extra brass for Langley

Langley Band is delighted to announce the creation of Langley Community Brass, a band for players of all abilities, ages and experiences in the heart of the Black Country. The new community band, which will aim to meet monthly to prepare music for performances in the West Midlands, is open to any brass or percussion players who are interested in a new experience.  The exciting first rehearsal day and afternoon performance will be held on Saturday 15th October 2016, 10am-4pm at Warley Baptist Church, Castle Road East, Oldbury, B68 9BJ.

Langley Band Chairman, Oliver Wilson was excited about what the future holds for the new band as community venture with a difference.  Talking about the new venture he said: “138 years after Langley Band was formed, we are thrilled to be able to begin a brand new brass band.  We hope that the newly formed Langley Community Brass will provide a platform for players, young and old to come together to make music in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.  I would encourage anyone who is interested to get in touch with us and come and take a part in our inaugural rehearsal and performance on the 15th of October.  If you know of anyone who would benefit from being part of community band – then please help us spread the word! Who knows what the future could hold for this new musical endeavour!”
