Siobhan Bates new Black Dyke solo horn

Following the announcement of the resignation of Jonathan Bates, Black Dyke now confirm Siobhan Bates as their new Solo Horn.

Siobhan previously played with GUS and more recently Fairey Band and has only last week completed her A-Level exams.

Siobhan told BBW: “Black Dyke has always been the band I have aspired to play for, and for me, it's a dream come true! I would like to thank Garry Cutt and the Fairey Band for everything they have done for me and for such a great experience.”

Professor Nicholas Childs commented: "I first met Siobhan at my International Brass Band Summer School, clearly she is a talented young lady with a wonderful sound, who will join an exceptional team of Zoe Hancock, Helen Varley and Alison Childs."

Siobhan will officially start with Black Dyke Band at Halifax Minster on the 30th June.
