Foden’s to partner Keele University

Foden's Band are pleased to announce a new Partnership with Keele University, as well as a free workshop and concert on 23 April.

Keele University Music & Music Technology is calling all keen brass instrumentalists to come and play with the legendary Foden’s Band in a fantastic free workshop. The workshop is set to take place between 2-5pm on Saturday 23 April with seven Foden’s tutors leading participants through masterclasses in Warming up, Performance techniques and Ensemble playing (band and sectional) followed by a Q&A. There will also be the chance to chat to staff and students from Keele University about studying for a degree in Music or Music Technology. The workshop band will then play a set in the evening concert. In the evening, award winning ‘Foden’s Band’ will join forces with Keele University Brass Band to present a spectacular array of music in celebration of St George’s Day.

This is the first concert celebrating a new partnership between the Foden's Band and Keele University’s Music and Music Technology Programmes. The partnership endeavours to bring top class brass musicians to the University to perform and work with students and composers, plus young brass musicians from the wider local community.

The Brass Masterclass is free and open to performers of all ages and levels from beginner to intermediate. Workshop participants will also gain free entry to the concert following the workshop session.

Tickets are available for the concert only and are priced at £14 / £7 (students/U16s). For more information and to book call Keele University Box Office on 01782 734340 or visit the ArtsKeele website. For specific queries about the afternoon workshop email music@keele.ac.uk
