Brighouse swap Huddersfield for Dewsbury

Brighouse & Rastrick Band travel just a little further to a fresh venue for their traditional March concert but are sure to provide the height of entertainment when they locate to Dewsbury Town Hall for their own spring promotion on the 19th March. Major roof repairs at Huddersfield Town Hall have forced the change but Kirklees Council have gone out of their way to support one of their most popular acts and make the band’s visit to another of their halls, down the Calder Valley, a night to remember.

Band personnel can highly commend Dewsbury Town Hall for its homely atmosphere with great sight-lines, space and acoustics. Built in 1889 it embodies those features which make Victorian venues so special – ornate ceilings, wood panelling, marble columns - and still boasts its original stained glass windows. All impressive enough to merit ‘Heritage Open Days’!

Recently appointed Resident Musical Director, Leigh Baker, will front proceedings in March and judging by the reaction to his first appearance in front of the band in Brighouse on 12th December everyone is in for a treat. Leigh’s forte really is ‘entertainment’ and there are sure to be plenty smiling faces at this next local concert when the band will feature no guest band, as normally happens at Huddersfield, enabling them to display their exceptional form and musicality to the full.

Tickets available from all usual Kirklees outlets (01484 223200) www.kirkleestownhalls.co.uk or by telephoning the band on 01484 718835.
