Principal players take their seats at NYBBS  

Students, musical directors, tutors and pastoral staff alike have all settled into their accommodation at Strathallan School in Perthshire and members of the NYBBS Children’s, Reserve and Senior bands are now attending their first rehearsals in separate venues on the campus. 
 
A total of 150 young brass players and percussionists, together with 40 teaching and support staff, were welcomed to the summer school by Scottish Brass Band Association president and course coordinator Carrie Boax before the young musicians dispersed to their respective bands for their inaugural practices together.  
 
Following seating auditions on the first day of the NYBBS summer school at Strathallan, the following players have been chosen by the course tutors to take up principal positions in the three bands: 
 
Children’s Band

Horn: Izzi Stirling
