Glastonbury to Kerkrade

Black Dyke Band gave a thrilling performance last weekend on the iconic pyramid stage as part of the 2022 Glastonbury Festival. The band began proceedings on the third and final day of the famous festival and wowed the crowd with a 45-minute set which included Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and James Bond theme, ‘For your Eyes Only’ amongst other classic pop and movie arrangements. This was the second time the band appeared at the festival having given its debut in 2017. A spokesperson for the band stated, “It was a fabulous experience. Our set went by in a flash we got a great reception from the huge Glastonbury crowd.”

Black Dyke and MD Prof. Nicholas Childs now turn their attention to the World Music Contest Championships in Kerkrade. In preparation the Queensbury band will showcase music from its own choice programme free of charge in an open rehearsal at Morley Town Hall on Tuesday 5th July at 8.00pm.
