Success for St Dennis

 

Congratulations to St Dennis Band, led by MD Darren Hawken, who recently won the Championship section of the Bugle Contest. Principal Cornet, Luke Barker, helped the band to victory with his super performance in the set work, ‘On Alderley Edge’, winning himself the ‘Best Solo Cornet’ Award in the process. The defending champions Cambourne had to settle for the runner-up spot this year, however there was a silver lining with John Hitchens winning the 'Best Euphonium' prize and the band taking the ‘March’ contest by storm with a great performance of ‘The Wizard’.

Congratulations also to St Austell, Mount Charles, Indian Queens, St Dennis Youth and Soundhouse Brass Plymouth Juniors on winning their respective sections. Full results are below:
