RCS bridging programme for budding Music Teachers

Calling all young (and not-so-young) Scottish brass players who may be contemplating a career as a music teacher. The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland is running a BEd Bridging Programme in Fair Access to support young musicians who want to be music teachers.

This programme is designed to enhance people’s understanding of the educational context of music teaching.  The core sessions will be based on the Curriculum for Excellence and aim to build understanding of related policies, vocal leadership, lesson planning and coaching skills.

The sessions are interactive and inclusive, and participants may be offered optional activity in subjects such as piano accompaniment, music technology and composition. Sessions start in September 2022, and you must be aged 16 or over.
