Lode Violet adds Gregson’s Cornet Concerto to his recording projects

If you missed the release on Sunday, make sure to check out the streaming services on a new recording by Lode Violet from an outstanding work for the cornet: ‘Cornet Concerto’ by Edward Gregson. The last year gave the cornet virtuoso the opportunity to launch some small recording projects. Several songs have already been realized together with the label Yuja Productions. Most of these are new transcriptions for cornet & piano, with ‘A Pacific Melody’ by Christopher Bond and ‘Rhapsody for Cornet’ by Belgian composer Roger Derongé.

Commenting on the project Lode explained, “I heard the work – ‘Cornet Concerto’ - premiered in 2016 at Le Nouveau Siècle, Lille with Richard Marshall and The Black Dyke Band. Since then, this performance has never let go of me. I have performed the work at several solo concerts as well as at my master’s recital at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp. Over the years, every idea about musicality and style of the composition has evolved. The combination with piano gave the opportunity to go into this even more deeply. The orchestration for piano was quite a challenge, but experienced pianist Karine Calomme did a fantastic job!”

The recording is available on a variety of different streaming services including Apple Music, Tidal, Deezer, Amazon Music as well as the following spotify link: https://open.spotify.com/album/4M5ZjyCrFtsOvdyuTokpJK?si=BORPIr_zQ_CVGvfn0ee7dQ&dl_branch=1
