The Last Post Project

The Last Post Project invites musicians of all ages and instruments to join together with Skunkworks in creating a unique event in commemoration of ANZAC Day (25th April) 2021. By registering, you will join with the many who will sound the “Last Post” across Australia on this important day.

Musicians can participate by registering their interest via the registration form at the bottom of this page.  Skunwkorks will hold a number of workshops in March and April to teach participants to play the Last Post and Rouse; the required drills and protocols; and the meaning of the Anzac Day service.

Each participant will be provided with their own dedicated sponsorship web page to which they will direct their sponsors for donations (participants can use a pseudonym on the web page if they wish). The proceeds of the sponsorships will be donated to the Women’s Veterans Network Australia.

If you would like to be a sponsor for this project but do not personally know one of the musicians you can go straight to the sponsorship page and choose a participant to sponsor.

On Anzac Day participants will play The Last Post at dawn (6am) in their driveway.   With COVID restrictions causing reduced or cancelled Anzac Day services this is a meaningful way we can acknowledge our service men and women and provide practical support for our veterans. Participants may also wish to play at their school's Anzac service or other community centre (church, retirement home etc.).
