Trumpets feature in BBC Instrumental Sessions

As the cold weather continues to draw in and the nation is missing the opportunity to jet off to warmer climates, the trumpets of the BBC orchestras will transport you somewhere sunny and exciting with a cracking Spanish themed virtual performance.

Launched on BBC Radio 3 ‘BBC Instrumental Sessions’ sees the trumpets of the BBC Concert Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra have joined together to perform ‘España Cañí’ by Pascual Marquina Narro and arranged by Ryan Linham. The sessions feature ‘single instrument ensembles’ performing together – apart – in lockdown, Downloads of the parts are available for this particular arrangement, which means you can play along with Britain’s finest!
