Swisstbone Success for Daws

Trombone virtuoso Isobel Daws has added another competition accolade to her impressive collection including BBC Radio 2 Young Brass Award and the 2018 Brass Category of the BBC's Young Musician of the Year competition. Her most recent success came at the Swisstbone competition where she won the 'Young Talents Tenor' and ALIUD special prize. Studying with Matt Gee and Peter Moore at the Royal Academy of Music in London, Isobel is still committed to brass banding as a valued member of the Friary Band.

The event attracted over 130 entrants from across the world in its four different categories. Isobel beat a host of outstanding rivals with her performances to win a three day recording session at the Aliud recording studios with 2 days editing and mastering and the resulting tracks and artwork for a release onto streaming platforms.
