Arts Council award Black Dyke Emergency Funding

It has been announced that Black Dyke Band will receive £76,000 of emergency Arts Council funding as part of the government's Culture Recovery Fund. The award is part of a £2 million fund given to organisations in the Bradford area. The fund offers financial support for cultural organisations and businesses that were financially stable before Covid-19, but are now at imminent risk of failure.

The fund will enable cultural organisations that have been affected by the Covid-19 crisis to stay afloat, providing them with support over a 6-month period. This should ensure that by 31 March 2021 they can reopen, either fully or partially, or operating on a sustainable, cost-efficient basis until they are able to reopen at a later date.

Some professional orchestras have also benefitted from the emergency fund, including:  London Symphony Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic and Halle Concerts Society.
