Foden’s to Virtually visit Armagh

Every year, nine members of Foden’s Band make the journey to Armagh, Northern Ireland to tutor on the Armagh Old Boys Brass Band Summer School. Due to COVID-19 the course was cancelled, but the band is pleased to announce that the Summer School will go ahead this year….online!

After many weeks of planning and zoom meetings, the band has confirmed that the course will take place on Saturday 22nd August at a cost of £15 per person. Members of the Summer School have already been given the opportunity to book their place and it is now opening up applications to anyone else who may be interested.

The Armagh Old Boys Brass Band Summer School is a fully inclusive course and each year caters for all ages and abilities. This has been our key focus for delivering this course online. There is no pressure for anyone to be put on the spot and perform in front of other delegates, there is however an opportunity to perform in the masterclass and have feedback on your performance by the Foden’s tutors for anyone wishing to do so. The course consists of seven sessions covering all aspects of brass playing and an evening quiz.

Follow the steps below to apply for the course:

1) Register your interest by completing the google form - (https://forms.gle/7k9roe32o5RBzgsY6) by 8pm on Sunday 16th August (remaining course places will be awarded on a first come first serve basis).

2) If you have been successful with your application you will receive an email informing you how to secure your place on the course with a £15 payment.

3) Prior to the start of the course, participants will receive an information pack and the zoom code/s for the day.

4) If you have any questions or queries please comment below or send us a message on the Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/armagholdboysbrassbandsummerschool

NOTE - You will need access to a device that has the zoom app/program to take part in the sessions. The app is available online and free to download.
