Dr Martin Contest Cancelled

BBW has been informed that the 2020 Dr Martin Wainstone Cup contest has been cancelled. The event was scheduled for Sunday 20th September, but due to the ongoing restrictions in place as a result of Covid-19, the organisers have decided to cancel. The event will return next year on 19th September 2021.

A spokesperson stated, "Sadly, the Coronavirus has taken its toll on the contest this year and led to the decision being taken by the trustees. In addition to the ongoing health concerns of participants, organisers and audience, the excellent facilities at Yarm School and the Princess Alexander Auditorium are also being utilised for the return to education for pupils. The Trustees of the Martin Bequest would like to thank all the bands that entered this year's contest and we look forward to seeing everyone next year."
