Change of seats in Stavanger Brass Band

Earlier this week Stavanger Brass Band elected, in their annual general meeting, a new chairman and leader of the board, Mr. Anders Rydberg. Mr. Rydberg is a well-known figure in Norwegian banding, as a former percussionist in the Stavanger Brass Band, and he has been heading up the Siddis Brass Committee for several years.

Stavanger Brass Band is the current Norwegian champions, and will represent Norway in EBBC, Malmö 2021. Mr. Rydberg commented, “It is with great pleasure and humility that I take upon this important role in the band. I also want to thank Ulf Rosenberg for everything he has done as a chairman for the past decades, reassured that he will continue to be part of the board, but in another role.” 

“We are thrilled to have recruited Anders to this vital role, and we are very much looking forward to the upcoming season, when things get back to normal”, said the leader of the music committee and principal trombone Karianne Flåtene Nilssen, referring to the current COVID-19 situation which is paralyzing most of the banding world at the moment.
