French Open Cancelled

The 26th French Open Championships is Cancelled. Chris Jeans the President of the Jury for the French Open Brass Band Championships made the following statement: “The World is going through unprecedented health crisis with the exponential development of the CONID-19 pandemic. In accordance with the government’s decision to protect the health and safety of everyone by curbing the spread of the epidemic, we are now forced to cancel the 26th French Open Brass Band Championships, which was to take place from the 29th-31st May 2020. It is with great sadness for all of us, but wisdom is required and we are sure that you understand our decision.”


Brass Band World has been informed that the organisers have contacted all the participating bands about the cancellation and have already confirmed that next year’s French Open Brass Band Championships will take place in Amboise on Loire Valley from the 4th-6th June 2021.
