Dutch Open Cancelled

Owing to the measures taken by the Dutch government concerning COVID-19, the organization of the Dutch Open Brass Band Championships and Groningen Brass Experience is forced to cancel both events.

Groningen Brass Experience was planned to be held from 11 -14 June 2020 in De Oosterpoort Groningen, The Netherlands. The Dutch Open Brass Band Championships was part of this event and was cancelled too.

With the maximum of 18 bands, the Dutch Open Brass Band Championships was fully booked. The organization regrets to cancel these events, but realizes that this is unavoidable considering the world-wide pandemic.

After consultation with sponsors and partners -SPOT/ Oosterpoort, Noord Nederlands Orkest, Prince Claus Conservatoire Groningen, BrassPass.tv, Yamaha, Muziekbond Groningen en Drenthe, VRIJDAG Advies en de Provinciale Brassband Groningen - it was decided to postpone the festival until June 2021. The Dutch Open Brass Band Championships has already contacted all participating bands about this cancellation.

Next year’s Dutch Open Brass Band Championships will be held on 12 June 2021 and is part of the Groningen Brass Experience festival taking place from Thursday 10 June to Sunday 13 June 2021.
