Details announced for 3rd Saxhorn Fest event

Details of ‘Saxhorn Fest 2020’ have been announced.  The incredibly successful event has gone from strength to strength and is now in its third year.  In line with its growing popularity the event has increased its aspirations in inviting its first ever international guest, the incredible Belgian tenor horn virtuoso Tim De Maeseneer.

The event, founded by Katrina Marzella and Helen Varley, is a celebration of tenor horns and baritone horns. Each year, Saxhorn Fest presents masterclasses, recitals, concert performances, discussions and lectures from some of the world's leading saxhorn exponents and musicians to players and enthusiasts of all standards and from all walks of life!
This year’s format has changed slightly, with an even more ambitious joint concert with the British Army Band Catterick to be held on the Friday night, followed by a full day of workshops on the Saturday.  Delegates can choose to attend either event, or both!

Full Schedule:
Friday 14th February: 7pm Valentine’s Day Concert with the British Army Band Catterick (featuring guest soloist Tim De Maeseneer plus festival founders Katrina Marzella and Helen Varley).  Garrison Memorial Church, Church Road, Catterick Garrison, DL9 4ER.  Free entry, open to the general public.

Saturday 15th February: 10:30am – 5pm Saxhorn Fest full workshop day for tenor horn and baritone players.  Featuring workshops and solo recitals.  Tickets are £20 for full price or £13 for concessions.

The event will also feature the British Army Saxhorn Ensemble, comprising professional tenor horn and baritone horn players from the British Army. Once again the Saturday will feature a separate Youth Focus workshop for younger delegates, sponsored by Band Supplies and hosted by Reg Vardy baritone soloist Fiona Casewell.

The festival is grateful for generous support from Besson, Brass Bands England and Yamaha, and the event will feature trade stands showcasing the latest instruments and merchandise.
