Double Delight for Easington

Easington Colliery Band is delighted to announce Ray Farr and Daniel Brooks as their conducting appointments for the upcoming contest season.

Daniel will once again lead the charge for Albert Hall qualification at the North of England Championships at Durham in March and Ray has accepted the invitation to lead them in their quest for promotion from the Senior Trophy at the Spring Festival in Blackpool in May.

Daniel is aiming to better the excellent 4th place gained at last year’s Area and says “Easington have improved so much over the last 18 months and 'A Tale as Yet Untold' really suits the players and our soloists in particular, I’m really excited for this contest because if we get it right, a top two spot is not out of the question.”

The band are eagerly anticipating working with Ray Farr once again as it has been 11 years since his previous appearance with them at the same contest back in 2009 on Spectrum. The band is hoping Ray will bring his wealth of experience and musical knowledge to produce an inspiring performance of Percy Fletcher’s 'Life Divine' at the Winter Gardens later in the year. Ray said he is “looking forward to conducting the band immensely.”

To compliment the current line up the band have strengthened with the additions of Sean Moran (Euphonium), Hayley O’Connelley (Trombone), Tom Lampard (Bass), Steven Moore & Michael Mather (Percussionists).
