Ellena Newton steps up at B&R

The Brighouse and Rastrick band has announced the return of trombone player Ellena Newton. Ellena returns to B&R after taking six months maternity leave, and will be stepping up to the Solo Trombone seat after four years on 2nd Trombone with the band. Ellena is currently studying at the Royal Northern College of Music under the tuition of Roger Cutts and is already making a name for herself as one of the country's leading trombone players. She will now be stepping into the shoes of her fiancé Ryan as he looks to focus on his conducting and teaching career.

Commenting on her new position at B&R, Ellena said, "I am absolutely delighted to be returning to Brighouse and Rastrick on solo trombone. After an amazing four years on 2nd Trombone it's a privilege to be taking this next step and I am excited for what the future holds."

A spokesperson for the band stated that Brighouse and Rastrick are absolutely thrilled to be welcoming Ellena back to the bandroom, and are excited for what will hopefully be a long and successful relationship. Ellena's first rehearsal was last Monday and her first concert appearance will be on Saturday 18th January in Hull City Hall.
