New entertainment competition for 2020

Entries are now being welcomed for a new entertainment contest in North East Derbyshire next year. The North East Derbyshire District Council Festival of Brass will be held at Tupton Hall School in Chesterfield on Sunday 21st June 2020.

The contest will be divided into two sections: Section A will cater for Championship and First section bands, with those bands from the Second, Third and Fourth sections invited to compete in Section B. There are generous prize funds on offer for the bands taking part with £600, £300 and £200 on offer in Section A and £300, £200 and £100 for podium finishers in Section B. Each band is required to provide a twenty-minute programme, with organisers hoping it will offer bands the ideal opportunity to showcase their talents to the highest possible standards, whilst still providing the very best in entertainment for the audience.

Councillor Martin Thacker, Leader of the Council stated, "This is a great opportunity for bands to showcase their talents in the District. We are passionate about providing events which enables the whole community to get together and listen to fantastic music and enjoy incredible performances by talented local and national bands".
