Richard Scott

It is with immense sadness we report on the sad passing of the highly respected Sound Engineer, Richard Scott following his steadfast and determined battle with cancer at the age of 64. Richard passed away peacefully at Willow Wood Hospice in Ashton-under-Lyne on 4th August.

Father to Michael and Stephen, and husband to Jane, Richard will be sorely missed in the recording studios by many of the worlds leading brass bands, choirs, composers and orchestras where his expertise and know how ensured he delivered recordings where he was held in the highest regard.

A Yorkshireman with a love of cricket,( a game both his sons have taken up and as a result provided him with with endless hours of pleasure)  Richard ‘batted’ studiously for considerable time out in the middle alongside his batting partner, Jane. His backroom teams at The Christie Hospital, Salford Royal, Manchester Royal Infirmary, Tameside General and finally Willow Wood Hospice always supported him. It was an innings he and all who knew him, could be proud of.

The family continue to raise funds for The Christie with Michael accompanied by his girlfriend Laura tackling Mount Kilimanjaro. Details of Richard’s funeral service will be advised when known.
