International support for Brighouse

Following the departure of Dr. David Thornton, Brighouse and Rastrick has just announced a new partnership between the band and Lee Harrelson. Lee will travel from his home in the US to work with Musical Director Prof David King as Visiting International Professor. Lee Harrelson is a Professor of Music at Missouri Western State University and has gained a worldwide reputation for his innovative musical approach and outlook. He is also the founder, Artistic Director and solo euphonium of the North American National Champion Fountain City Brass.
 
It is understood that Lee will work with the Yorkshire Champions during his stay in the UK, supporting the band’s preparation for their forthcoming appearances at the British Open and National Finals. Band Secretary, William Evans explained, "This is an exciting time for the band and new professional musical developments are always welcomed. We are sure Lee will bring his renowned experience and musical talent to bear in what is sure to be an exciting opportunity to be integrally involved with the band during this important period."
