Wellington Brass wins the New Zealand National Championships

Congratulations to Wellington Brass who successfully defended its New Zealand National Champion title with an impressive musical display in Hamilton this weekend. The band was victorious in every sense with esteemed adjudicator Luc Vertommen placing them first in each category. Superb performances of  'The Light of the World', 'Variations on a Ninth'and 'Titan's Progress'won the band trophies for the Sacred Item, Set-Work and Own-Choice, the bass section were also awarded the ‘best section’ in addition to the talented MD, David Bremner, picking up the KGL Smith Memorial Trophy and the Mervyn Waters Memorial Trust Cup.
 
Congratulations must also go to Nelson City Brass, Tauranga City Brass, Matamata Brass and Takapuna Youth Band for winning National honours in their own respective sections.
