Brighouse Festival of Brass
There was plenty of great playing on show in the Town Hall Square at the 20thBrighouse Festival of Brass. Organised by the Brighouse and District Lions the March and Hymn Tune event featured 24 bands with the important decisions being made by experienced adjudicators Dennis Wilby and Brian Rostron.
Congratulations to Hepworth and M.D. Mark Bentham who took the honours in both sections of the contest with impressive renditions of 'The Wizard'and 'Abide with Me'.
Elland Silver Youth successfully defended its title in the youth section and concluded the event in fine style with a Gala Concert performance, conducted by Samantha Harrison, in St Martin's Parish Church.
