BOPA in place for Whit Friday

The organisers of the Saddleworth & Oldham and Tameside Whit Friday contests have confirmed that appropriate legal requirements have been put in place in respect to Child Protection and performance licensing for children under the age of 16. The contests are now in receipt of a Body of Persons Approval (BOPA) to cover young people, however participating bands are asked to confirm the following details and requirements:

 
1. Confirm the number of under 16s that will be performing with the band.
2. Confirm the number of chaperone/DBS checked adults that will accompany minors.
3. Confirm that each band with any performers under 16 has a robust safeguarding policy.
 
Bands will also need to ensure they have the required ratio of 1 adult per 12 children on the day to comply.
