Paul Fisher to join ‘The Specials’ on Tour

Paul Fisher is taking a short sabbatical as the MD of Amersham Band to join the legendary British Ska band 'The Specials' on a month-long tour of Canada and the USA. Paul will be playing trombone with the group as they launch their critically acclaimed new album 'Encore'.

Paul is no stranger to this type of work having toured and recorded with artists including, Madness, Jools Holland, Gloria Estefan, The Temptations and Frankie Valli. He is particularly looking forward to ‘The Specials’ twenty date tour that begins and ends in Canada, whilst also visiting the US in Seattle, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Diego, Chicago, New York and Boston. Speaking about the opportunity Paul commented, "It's going to be a great tour with a great band! There's lots of playing to do as so many of their hits have been influenced by the trombone great Rico Rodriguez and more recently the brilliant Tim Smart, but I'm really looking forward to the challenge."

Amersham will be in safe hands while Paul is away with renowned musician Dr Stephen Cobb, Bandmaster of the International Staff Band taking over the MD role.
