Childs to team up in Norway

Nidaros Brass Band present another fantastic concert featuring world class guests Robert and David Childs. The event, Vitae Lux will take place in Nidaros Cathedral on May 26th at 8pm, with Conductor Geir Ulseth, Guest Conductor Dr Robert Childs and Euphonium Soloist David Childs. The concert will feature entertaining and prominent works for band, several of which will be conducted by Robert Childs. In addition to Philip Sparke’s ‘Tallis Variations’ and ‘Vitae Lux’  by Frode Alnæs the band will also be accompanying the Norwegian premiere of the Karl Jenkins ‘Euphonium Concerto’ performed by David with his Dad at the helm.
 
Commenting about the event a spokesperson for the band stated, “We are so delighted to welcome a conductor of Bob’s world class calibre back to Nidaros Brass Band, and even more thrilled that he is bringing his talented son David. We are looking forward to working with such fine musicians and are so pleased we have managed to persuade them to perform a few duets – sure to be magical moments in the concert.”
