NYBBGB gets underway

The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain has started its Easter 2019 residential course in style today. Following a hectic schedule of registration, auditions and an assembly the band began its ensemble music making in the traditional way, by playing the National Anthem, under the skilled direction of Guest Conductor Mark David.
 
Congratulations go to every young musician who has earned a seat in the hall at Harrogate Ladies College to represent their country, with particular praise going to the principals for the course, who have been announced as:
 
Principal Cornet: Thomas Nielsen 
Principal Soprano: Matthew Hall 
Principal Flugelhorn: Seb Williman and Eleanor Joy 
Solo Horn: Grace Jeffers 
Solo Baritone: Rose Hancock 
Solo Euphonium: Alex Barron 
Principal Trombone: Joe Heartfield 
Principal Bass Trombone: Oliver Atherton 
Solo Eb Bass: Gregor Spence 
Solo Bb Bass: George Mitchell
Principal Percussion: Emily Quick 
 
Don’t miss out on the opportunity to hear this fabulous band with their internationally acclaimed virtuoso soloist, Allen Vizzutti. Visitors are welcome to attend the Open Day on Tuesday 16thApril, where prospective members are able to test their mettle in an audition for either the NCBB or NYBB. Tickets are also available for the end of course concerts at Harrogate Ladies College and Morley Town Hall on Friday 19thand Saturday 20thApril respectively.
