Victory for the Co-op in Scotland

With two other regional contests taking place south of the border, it was a busy weekend for deciding those National qualifying spots. Congratulations go to The Cooperation Band who not only took the Scottish Championship title with a great performance of Ray Steadman-Allen’s ‘Seascapes’, but also scooped up every other available solo and section prize and won qualification for the 2020 European Championships. Joining the Cooperation Band for the trip to the Royal Albert Hall in October are runners-up Whitburn, who had a unique pre-contest warm-up as the band enjoyed playing to the crowds at Murrayfield for the Scotland v Wales 6 Nations Challenge the previous day.

Victories in the lower sections were awarded to Kirkintilloch Band, Newmains & District, Irvine and Dreghorn and Barrhead Burgh in the First to Fourth Sections respectively. A list of the full results can be viewed below with further details to follow in the next issue of BBW.
