Philip Cobb leads a Masterclass at RBC

B&S, Besson Courtois artist and London Symphony Orchestra Principal Trumpet Philip Cobb visited the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire last week to give a masterclass. He worked directly with students, gave an invaluable insight into the life of a professional musician and performed ‘Jubilance’ and‘Dark Haired Marie’ with the RBC Brass Band. Students were understandably left dazzled and inspired in equal measure by the visit of the virtuoso musician.

Head of Brass Band studies Ian Porthouse, commented, "This really was something special; Phil was so generous with his time and his playing was simply staggering. His performances took the breath away, and the insight and tips he passed on to our cornet and trumpet students were invaluable. Nothing was too much trouble and the effect he had on the students was amazing. My thanks go to him and the Buffet Group for accepting our invitation.”
