BBE extends entry deadline for Youth Championships

Brass Bands England (BBE) has extended the deadline for entry to the National Youth Championships, due to take place 30 March at Warwick Hall and Bridge House Theatre, Warwick School.

The new deadline for applications is 9 January, enabling the pre-draw to go ahead as planned on 10 January.

New rules and timings for the 2019 Championships, introduced following BBE’s consultation with youth bands last year, originally included an earlier entry deadline, but said BBE’s Relationship and Partnership Development Manager. Alex Parker: “We received a number of late entry requests, so have extended the entry deadline. Applications are accepted on a first come, first served basis and we anticipate a high turnout, so would encourage bands to apply quickly, to avoid disappointment.”

He added: “Bands are also advised to take note of some very important details, particularly in relation to the child licensing regulations that affect every participating group.”
