Lions get to work for Switzerland with Foden’s Band

Following a busy Christmas period where Lions Youth Brass managed to raise over £2,100 entertaining Christmas shoppers in the local Waitrose, the band was back in the band room this weekend starting preparations for the European Youth Championship. They did this in some style with the help of a fantastic array of conductors and players from Foden’s Band.

On Friday evening Michael Fowles helped to blow away the Christmas cobwebs and then on Saturday, Mark Wilkinson, Melanie Whyle, Jonathan Bates, Gary Curtin, Stuart Baglin, John
Barber and Anthony Mann took sectionals. Mark Bousie then directed the afternoon rehearsal which focussed on ‘Sanctuary’by Daniel Hall. A spokesperson from the event stated, “It was a very productive and enjoyable weekend.”
